Biography
Stefano Barone (electric guitar), Alessio Cilìa (electric guitar) and Walter Schembri (drums) began to rehearse on September 16,2005. Stefano and Alessio were the former members of the crossover band Gomez Square, while Walter had been playing in many cover bands for years. This new project was born with the intent to create music without stylistic boundaries,a mix of all the genres that they enjoied to listen at. After a few weeks Nikola Nìkolic, former vocalist of Gomez Square, and Antonio Carfì, bass player of previous Walter's bands, joined the family. From the beginnning, they composed their own songs without worrying about the musical direction: their early stuff was influenced by nu-metal, old school heavy metal, punk, alternative rock and a wide range of non-rock genres like jazz, Balkan folk and blues. They spent the first year playing around their material and recording their first demo, a picture of the band's early evolution.
During early spring of 2007 the band splitted up with Walter and Carlo Schembari was the chosen one to take over his seat behind the drum kit. The new member made the line-up stronger as ever and heavily contributed to write the new material of the band which chose "Carnival Ends" as the definitive name for the quintet. The style of the new songs was more personal and mature and presented a mixing of heavy rock with other stuff like dub, funk, psychedelic and math rock. These sperimentations didn't prejudice the strong "pop" attitude of the songs, mainly represented by the vocals.
The band decided to record their new material, so between late 2007 and early 2008 entered the studio. The result is the demo "Time Will Tell", 4 brand-new songs, a step of a constantly evolving and maturing songwriting process...
